In short: Applying takes about one minute, and we usually get back to you within about 24 hours on working days. How soon your first working day comes after that depends on the job, the work location and your documents – we cannot guarantee a fixed start date. But if you have your documents ready, things move much faster.
As of: October 2026. General information, not legal or tax advice.
How fast is it realistically?
Our process has only a few steps:
| Step | Time |
|---|---|
| Fill out the questionnaire | about 1 minute |
| We contact you by phone or messenger | usually within about 24 hours on working days |
| Short interview and job offer | depends on the job and work location |
| Employment contract | you receive it before you start work |
| Travel, registration, first working day | depends on your situation |
It is usually faster if:
- you already live in Germany or can travel at short notice;
- your ID document is valid and you have it at hand;
- you are flexible about the work location – for example Diemelstadt, where many jobs are open right now;
- you give complete and honest information in the questionnaire.
You can find the whole process step by step under How it works.
What you should prepare
Valid passport or ID card
Without the right to work, it is not possible. Anyone aged 18 or over can apply with:
- an EU passport or EU ID card (e.g. Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia);
- a Ukrainian passport with a residence permit under § 24 AufenthG or a provisional certificate (Fiktionsbescheinigung) with permission to work;
- a German residence title that allows work.
Check the expiry date: if the document expires soon, it is best to renew it before you leave. More under Who can work in Germany?
Tax ID – arrives after registration
After moving in, you register at the citizens’ office (Bürgeramt) within two weeks. The registration office sends your details to the Federal Central Tax Office, and the tax ID arrives automatically by post at your registered address. This can take a few weeks. You do not need to apply for it. Pass the tax ID on to us as soon as you receive it. The article Gross and net explains why this is important.
Health insurance
Health insurance is compulsory in Germany. As an employee, you choose a statutory health insurance fund, and your employer registers you there. It is best to decide before your first working day. More in the article Health insurance in Germany.
Bank account
Your wages are transferred to an account. An account with an IBAN from an EU country usually works too, but many people open a German current account (Girokonto). You can read how to do this under Opening a bank account.
Checklist before you leave
- Passport or ID card valid (expiry date checked)
- For Ukrainians: residence permit under § 24 or provisional certificate (Fiktionsbescheinigung) with you
- Forklift licence and proof of work experience (if you have them)
- With family: marriage certificate, children’s birth certificates (with apostille and translation if needed)
- Bank card with IBAN or a plan for a German account
- European Health Insurance Card for the journey (if you have one)
- Safety shoes and work clothes, if we tell you in advance
- Some money for the first weeks – the first wages only come with the first payslip
- Mobile phone with internet and messenger, so that we can reach you
- Copies or photos of all important documents
We help with moving and registration. Accommodation can be provided on request – more under Accommodation.
Urgent need: Diemelstadt
At the moment, you can find a job fastest in Diemelstadt (Hesse, Waldeck-Frankenberg district). There we are currently looking for 30 warehouse workers (m/f/d). Typical warehouse tasks are order picking, packing, receiving goods and shipping.
- Pay: from €15.33 per hour gross, forklift drivers (m/f/d) from €16.08 per hour gross
- German skills are a plus, but we also consider applications without German
- Support with moving and registration
There are more jobs in Göttingen, Hanover and Paderborn. You can see all open positions under current jobs.
Be careful with “work from tomorrow” offers
People who need work quickly can easily become victims of dishonest offers. Pay attention to this:
- Honest employers do not ask for money for a job or for “processing”. Our service is free of charge for applicants.
- You should receive a written employment contract before you start work.
- Never hand over your passport permanently.
